This training is specifically designed to provide participants with essential foundational skills in close-quarters battle (CQB), with a strong focus on solo operations using a handgun.
Course description
Three-Day Course – The course emphasizes realistic scenarios where the participant is alone and must act independently—such as a civilian defending their home or a first responder encountering a hostile threat without immediate backup.
While the content is relevant to military and law enforcement personnel (e.g., soldiers, police officers, or contractors in high-risk environments), it is primarily tailored for law-abiding citizens who may face similar life-threatening situations during a home intrusion or public attack.
Participants will be introduced to the principles of movement, positioning, threat identification, and engagement in confined spaces, all from the perspective of a solo operator. The training also covers decision-making under stress and basic room-clearing techniques adapted for a lone individual with a handgun.
Security professionals, including bodyguards, will also benefit from learning how to extract or protect a client in close quarters, even when acting alone. Members of law enforcement who may often be the first on the scene will find the tactics directly applicable to real-world interventions.
Throughout the course, participants will train with both live firearms and non-lethal Simunition® systems during scenario-based exercises, allowing them to safely apply what they’ve learned in dynamic and high-stress situations.
Skill prerequisites and Requirements
The candidate should have completed Tactical Pistol 3-Day or similar courses. The course is accessible to a diverse audience, including both civilians and military personnel. Its civilian defense focus has made it particularly appealing to conscientious members of the public. Participants must sign a statement that they have a clean criminal record.
Methods
The course will be taught using theoretical and practical exercises.
