This 2-day I.B. A. (International Bodyguard Association) basic course is designed to develop skills for CPO who wish to use a sniper rifle in defensive combat situations.
Course description
This 2-day basic course is intended for Close Protection Operators (CPO) who require foundational knowledge and skills in the use of sniper / precision rifles within protective and overwatch roles. The course establishes a structured and safe introduction to sniper rifle employment, with a strong focus on correct procedures, technical understanding, and fundamental shooting principles.
Training covers the safe operation of bolt-action and semi-automatic sniper rifles, essential weapon handling, optics use, and rifle setup. Participants gain a working understanding of calibers, ammunition, ballistics, and distance measurement, combined with practical application through progressive live-fire exercises at short, medium, and extended distances.
The course is primarily practical, supported by essential theory, and follows a clearly defined training program. Emphasis is placed on observation, shooting fundamentals from prone and alternative positions, basic sniper team cooperation, and accurate rifle zeroing and data recording. Upon completion, participants will possess a solid baseline for further development within Close Protection and Executive Protection sniper-related roles.
Skill prerequisites and Requirements
Basic knowledge of handling a bolt action rifle is not mandatory, but we recommend it. For weapon-related courses, participants are simply asked to sign a clean criminal record statement — there is no need to provide an official certificate.
Methods
The course will be taught using theoretical and practical exercises. The lectures will be conducted in the classroom, in buildings, and on the shooting range. The course will be given with the LYNX TC equipment.
