This 2-day I.B. A. (International Bodyguard Association) basic course is designed to develop skills for CPO who wish to use a pistol, carbine, sniper rifle and shotgun in defensive combat situations.
Course description
This 2-day course is specifically designed for Close Protection Operators (CPOs) who seek to develop and integrate fundamental shooting skills across four different weapon platforms: pistol, carbine, designated marksman/sniper rifle, and shotgun, within a protective operations environment. The primary focus of the course is familiarization, safe handling, and tactical employment of these weapon systems as they relate to real-world Close Protection duties.
Day One focuses on fundamental pistol and carbine skills for close protection scenarios. Students learn basic threat engagement principles, safe and efficient weapon handling, fundamental movement techniques, and structured decision-making appropriate for confined and controlled environments.
Day Two introduces the fundamentals of the designated marksman/sniper rifle and shotgun. Emphasis is placed on precision shooting basics, positional shooting, and understanding the roles and coordination of different weapon systems within a Close Protection team.
Approximately 90% of the course consists of practical, scenario-based training. All drills are directly aligned with real-world Close Protection responsibilities, preparing operators to safely, responsibly, and effectively manage complex tactical shooting situations using multiple weapon systems in executive and protective security environments.
Skill prerequisites and Requirements
Basic knowledge of handling a weapons is not mandatory, but we recommend it. For weapon-related courses, participants are simply asked to sign a clean criminal record statement — there is no need to provide an official certificate.
Methods
The course will be taught using theoretical and practical exercises. The lectures will be conducted in the classroom and on the shooting range. The course will be given with the LYNX TC equipment.
