This course is designed for candidates to develop the advanced skills needed to design and maintain radio communication systems.
Course description
“Radio Technician” course gives the candidates the advanced knowledge how to design and maintain radio communication systems. The basic knowledge of DC and AC circuits is given, the symbols and purpose of electrical components are shown, various measuring equipment is explained and demonstrated, antenna system installation is explained, frequency mixing and transmission lines are mentioned, effective radiated power and baluns are explained, repeater operation and shift will be explained, soldering techniques of different joints and connectors will be shown and practised, radio interfaces will be explained and software applications will be explained and some of them demonstrated, radio programming will be explained and practised.
Includes: military snack/lunch and drink and accommodation.
Skill prerequisites and Requirements
The candidate does have to possess prior experience working with radio communication devices as well as basic knowledge with radio communication systems (Radio Communications Intermediate Course).

The course will be taught using theoretical and practical exercises. The lectures will be conducted in the classroom, and the exercises will be held in the classroom and/or outside. The course candidates will be given the LYNX TC equipment during the course.
