This course is designed to develop skills for Close Protection Operators who wish to use a pistol as a primary weapon in defensive combat situations. The course is conducted in cooperation with I.B.A. (International Bodyguard Association) instructors and in accordance with their latest, state-of-the-art standards.
Course description
This intensive 3-day course is specifically designed to enhance the defensive handgun capabilities of Close Protection Operators operating in high-threat environments where the pistol is the primary defensive weapon. The training focuses on developing rapid, decisive responses under stress, significantly reducing reaction time while increasing shooting speed and precision.
Participants will refine advanced handgun handling skills essential for protective operations, including efficient weapon manipulation, target engagement under time pressure, and decision-making in dynamic defensive scenarios. Timed and stress-induced drills are used to build the operator’s ability to balance speed, accuracy, and situational control.
The course is fast-paced and performance-driven, with approximately 90% of the training conducted as practical, scenario-based exercises. All drills are directly aligned with real-world protective duties, ensuring candidates are fully prepared to safely and responsibly manage complex tactical shooting situations in Close Protection and Executive Protection environments.
Skill prerequisites and Requirements
Basic knowledge of handling a semi-automatic pistol is not mandatory, but we recommend it. For weapon-related courses, participants are simply asked to sign a clean criminal record statement — there is no need to provide an official certificate.
Methods
The course will be taught using theoretical and practical exercises. The lectures will be conducted in the classroom and on the shooting range. The course will be given with the LYNX TC equipment.
