This 10-day I.B. A. (International Bodyguard Association) is designed to develop basic Close Protection skills for the candidates who wish to work in the security industry.
Course description
This 10-day Basic Bodyguard Course is designed in accordance with the International Bodyguard Association (IBA) methodology, founded in 1957 in Paris by Major Lucien Victor Ott, a pioneer of modern Close Protection doctrine.
The course is intended for professional Close Protection Operators (CPO) who require a solid foundation in core bodyguard skills, including protective escort, static protection, movement of protected persons, convoy procedures, and threat awareness. In line with IBA principles, the training focuses on preventive and defensive protection, professional conduct, and teamwork, rather than offensive tactical roles.
Training provides a structured, progressive, and safety-oriented introduction to the role of the bodyguard within Close Protection teams. Emphasis is placed on protective formations, situational awareness, observation, communication, and correct procedures during both static and mobile protection tasks.
Skill prerequisites and Requirements
No prior experience or previous training is required to attend this course; it is designed as an entry-level program for individuals new to Close Protection and bodyguarding. For weapon-related courses, participants are simply asked to sign a clean criminal record statement — there is no need to provide an official certificate.
